The German Patent and Trademark Office has informed us that this year, in addition to the list of holidays published in OJ EPO 2019, A7, its "Information and Service Centre" in Berlin will also be closed on the following day:

Friday, 8 March 2019.

Please note that, in addition to the list of holidays published in OJ EPO 2019, A7, the European Patent Office will also be closed on the following bridging days (see the notice from the President of the EPO dated 5 October 2018, OJ EPO 2018, A81):

Monday, 23 December,

Friday, 27 December and

Monday, 30 December 2019.

Under Rule 134(1) EPC, periods expiring on a day on which at least one of the EPO's filing offices is not open for receipt of documents are extended to the first day thereafter on which all the filing offices are open for receipt of documents.

Under Rule 134(3) EPC, the provisions of Rule 134(1) EPC apply mutatis mutandis where acts are performed with the central industrial property office or other competent authority of a contracting state.
